Hall of Mirrors Drops July 8, 2026

Paperback of the novel Hall of Mirrors by Cesar Torres

The descent continues.

Hall of Mirrors, Book Three of The Coil Series, arrives July 8, 2026.

If you've followed Néstor Buñuel from the underground rivers of 13 Secret Cities through the ritual murders of 9 Lords of Night, you already know that Mictlán is not a metaphor in this series. It is a place. It has architecture. It has laws. And it has a cost.

In Hall of Mirrors, Néstor returns — not by choice, but because the underworld has unfinished business with him. What begins as a prison interview with The Night Drinker becomes a summoning. And what follows is the deepest descent into Mictlán the series has taken yet.

The nine levels of the underworld in Mexica cosmology test every soul who passes through. Each level tests what the traveler is made of — stripping away what is false until only what is essential remains. Hall of Mirrors is built on that logic. Every corridor Néstor walks, every god and goddess he encounters, every reflection he confronts — each one is a test of identity, memory, and transformation.

This novel took eight years to complete. I wrote it through real loss — including the death of my father. Mictlán stopped being mythology during those years. The underworld became something I navigated personally, the way Néstor navigates it in these pages. What emerged is the book I couldn't have written any earlier. It needed that time. It needed that grief.

For those who have traveled the HTKS saga — there are naguales in Hall of Mirrors. You'll have to be clever to find them. Just like in the legends.

We are three volumes into a nine-volume arc. The Coil is just beginning to unravel.

Pre-orders open in April. Mark July 8.
